Course DescriptionDue to a dynamic character of PSO each Public Affairs Officer must be appropriately trained and prepared for media engagement prior to his/her deployment and have a minimum of core requirements including: awareness of NATO Military Policy on Public Affairs, ability to operate in media environment (including preparing news releases, conducting interviews and press conferences) and advertence to the constant media presence and the importance of media relations, as those are prerequisites for comprehensive understanding of media environment and effective communication in PSO. This course provides participants with the basic knowledge necessary to understand both the opportunities and challenges of the media presence in Peace Support Operations.

Aim of the CourseThe aim of the course is to provide participants with the basic knowledge necessary to understand both the opportunities and challenges of the media presence in Peace Support Operations and to train necessary skills required to best utilize Public Affairs within operational process, ensuring unity of effort in the accomplishment of mission objectives.
