Aim of the CourseThe aim of this course is to provide military and civilian legal advisors in national or NATO billets with Individual Training and Education focused upon operational law issues relevant to current NATO activities and operations.

1 Assist in supporting operational legal issues encountered when working for or with NATO and properly apply jus ad bellum and jus in bellow in the conduct of NATO operations.
2 Assist in supporting the operational planning for NATO Operations, and deliver advice on operational legal issues during conduct.
3 Prepare military and civilian legal advisors to deliver support during the development of the NATO ROE and deliver advice on the use of NATO ROE and issues pertaining to Self-defence during the conduct of NATO operations.
4 Prepare military and civilian legal advisors to identify how the international human rights law apply to NATO forces, the work of the ICRC and the levels of cooperation of the ICRC and NATO in the conduct of NATO operations.
5 Prepare military and civilian legal advisors to provide operational legal advice during the targeting cycle in NATO operations.
