Course DescriptionThe aim of the course is to provide the student with the foundational knowledge of current and emerging Chemical Warfare (CW) hazard risks, threats, and implications for medical countermeasures within the context of NATO CBRN Defence policy, capabilities, and legal considerations.

Learning Objectives1. CHEMICAL DEFENCE FUNDAMENTALS: Given references, the student will describe the current NATO CBRN Defence policy with specific focus on the chemical portion, in accordance with current NATO doctrine and Standardization Agreements. 2. CHEMICAL WARFARE (CW) AND TOXIC INDUSTRIAL CHEMICAL (TIC) RISKS, HAZARDS AND THREATS: Given references, the student will describe the characteristics, effects, and impacts of Chemical Weapons and agents on operations in accordance with NATO doctrine and Standardization Agreements. 3. NATO CHEMICAL DEFENCE COMPONENTS: Given references, the student will demonstrate the components and capabilities of NATO CBRN Defence response forces to defeat or mitigate the threat of Chemical Warfare agents in accordance with NATO doctrine and Standardization Agreements.
